Make Your Own Play-Doh!

Simple, quick instructions for making your own play-doh. Your kids will be engrossed in their play for hours. Prep, cooking, and clean up only takes about five minutes! Perfect for a rainy or wintry day.

Ingredients
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tsp. Cream of tartar
1 tbsp oil
1 cup water
Food coloring (optional)

Directions
*Combine in large sauce pan and cook over medium heat until dough pulls away from sides of pot.
*(let cool before giving to kids!)
*Allow your kids to personalize their play-doh with food coloring.
*Please note, the only way to blend well is to mix with your hands as play-doh is fully formed by this stage.
***Warning***: hands will momentarily be discolored while adding food coloring, so wear gloves during this step if you’ve got them.

*Play-doh keeps well for a few months in ziplock baggies or air-tight containers as long as it remains debri-free. You will know, visually, when it’s time to throw it away and make more.
